A hail storm hit my neighborhood, and I think I have hail damage. What should I do?

Please call Legends Roofing before you call for an inspection from your insurance company. We have a lot of experience working with the insurance adjusters and can make the process go smoothly for you. We use the same software as the insurance industry to estimate and measure your roof. We have a time-tested detailed checklist that ensures that the insurance adjuster doesn't miss any key issues when looking at your roof.

I had my adjuster come and my roof is totaled, what do I do next?

We recommend calling us to go over the estimate. We work with this information all of the time and can help you in this process. Although you may have received a check from your insurance company, it may not be enough. There are a number of reasons why pricing could be outdated. As the price of oil goes up so do the price of materials and labor. Since most of the estimates are software driven, we see lots of times when old pricing is used and the homeowner never knows it. Next, the adjuster could have made a mistake on the measurements. We see this a lot too. There are satellites that can measure your roof now and adjusters are using these to save time and reduce risk of injury. We think of these as calculators. They work great if you know what you are doing and the angle of your roof is ok. We like to measure the "Old School" way. We find it to be more accurate and less costly thus giving you an accurate estimate.

I have an older home with wood shakes under composition shingles what do?

In Texas, if the roof needs to be replaced, then both layers will have to be removed due to insurance company rules.
The fire hazard coupled with the additional weight on the roof require a new roof. We are specialist in this area and can walk you through the process.

How can a roof with a new deck give me radiant barrier protection as well as a tax credit?

If you have to replace your roof and there are wood shakes under your composition shingles (2 layers), by choosing the right decking you can save money. Since the housing market is in a standstill wood is readily available and cheap. Radiant barrier decking could not only reduce your utility bills but also qualify your for a tax credit. The cost difference is usually very affordable to upgrade to radiant barrier decking.

What is a Master Shingle Applicator?

We are one of a handful of companies that have been chosen as a Master Shingle Applicator(MSA) for Certainteed Corporation. They have been in business for over 100 years and know roofs. MSA's must pass tests on products and installation processes in order to earn such a high honor. Our installers and sales people have all passed these tests. This assures home owners that our company can do the job correctly the first time.

How can I extend my warranty to 20 years?

Since we are in the Master Shingle Applicator program and have passed all of the testing processes for Certainteed Corporation, we are able to extend the stated warranties. This additional warranty is backed by the shingle manufacturer as long as we use their products. This warranty covers labor and materials!

Is there a statute of limitations on filing a claim?

Yes there is. Most insurance companies will not honor a claim filed more than 365 days after the damage was done to your roof. In order to ensure your insurance company will honor your claim it is important to file as soon as possible.

Why has the insurance company denied my hail/storm claim but my neighbors are getting new roofs?

There are many reasons that this may have happened. For example, you may have had an inexperienced adjuster. Adjuster schools are two weeks in duration. Another example, would be the timing of the inspections. If you had your insurance adjuster come by a week after the storm he or she may have denied the claim. Most hail shows up better after a couple of hard rains and weeks of exposure. We recommend you call us to help you in this process. We can meet the adjuster for you with no cost or obligation. We typically get these overturned due to our experience and knowledge of insurance company storm guide lines.

What our customers
have to say about us:

"We had our insurance company come out right after the storm to inspect our roof. We were told that the roof was OK and didn't require replacement, but Legends Roofing had reroofed many homes in our neighborhood and suggested we get a re-inspection of our roof. They not only met the adjuster, at no cost to us, but helped measure and locate the damages to insure a proper inspection. Thanks to Legends Roofing and their expertise in the roofing and insurance process we got our roof replaced/paid for by our insurance company."

Our time line to get this project completed was very tight and we needed an experienced company who had roofing skills with an eye for detail. We were referred to Legends Roofing by our insurance adjuster who had worked with them on another large apartment complex. We were very pleased to have made the decision to work with Legends Roofing as they delivered and exceeded our expectations. They are one of a few roofing companies that are Master Shingle Applicators. By selecting the right brand we extended our warranty an extra 10 years!”
